Season 2 of Amazon Prime’s The Boys ends with a bang. No, literally — multiple bangs accompanied by multiple exploding heads. The season finale wraps up the storyline of its main antagonist, Stormfront (Aya Cash), as Homelander’s (Antony Starr) son Ryan (Cameron Crovetti) uses his untrained supe powers to burn her to a crisp.RELATED: 'The Boys' Season 3 Will Explore the History of Vought InternationalWith Season 2 ending in such an explosive way, theories are flying left, right, and center as to where the show is now headed. From who is behind the exploding heads, to Supes infiltrating The Boys, to Ryan’s destiny, and everything in between — Reddit fans are going wild with theorizing what exactly Season 3 will bring.

The Boys Are A Contingency Plan

One Reddit user is particularly enthralled with the reactions of The Boys when heads begin to explode. This theory speculates that The Boys are a contingency plan, with a mole having infiltrated them and is secretly working for Vought.

Stan Edgar (Giancarlo Esposito), CEO of Vought International, knows that if his Supes fall out of line (which let’s be real, is very plausible), he can have The Boys eliminate them with no repercussions falling back on himself. Let’s not forget — public opinion of The Boys is not great, so it would be easy for blame to deflect back on them.

Stormfront is Homelander’s Mother

Stormfront tries to take Ryan with him by threatening Becca in The Boys Season 2 Finale

Flashbacks to Homelander’s story show that the young Supe was raised in a laboratory. Regardless, there is still no explanation as to how he was actually created. Another theory shared on Reddit suggests that Homelander could actually be Stormfront’s biological son.

Hear us out. In the comics, it is revealed that Homelander and Stormfront are clones. The TV show tends to bend the material of the comics in many different ways, such as changing the genders and histories of characters like Victor Neumann and Stormfront. This theory suggests that instead of being clones, Homelander is actually her son. Talk about family ties.

Vought's Plans for Ryan

Users on Reddit have questioned why exactly Ryan was left alone to be raised by Becca (Shantel VanSanten), despite him being the son of their most powerful Supe (which could all change when Solider Boy enters the picture in Season 3). The theory is that Ryan, being raised by his mother in a loving environment, would grow up with the same powers as Homelander, but be easily controlled and less of a threat to Vaught.

This would allow Vought to capitalize on the profits of a mini-Homelander in the long run, but bringing him up in a nurturing environment and giving him a moral ground that can’t be used against Vought in the future.

A Supe in Disguise

Mother's Milk, The Boys

Another important point from the comics is that all of The Boys took Compound V, giving them Supe powers. Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso) was even born with Compound V in his system, making him a Supe from birth. None of this, however, has been addressed in the show within the first two seasons.

A Reddit user theorizes that one of The Boys is either already a Supe, or will become a Supe. Whilst it’s wild to imagine The Boys becoming what they absolutely despise, it’s also very plausible — not only because of the comics but also because The Boys will do anything to take down Vought. If taking Compound V was needed for whatever reason to do this, it would definitely happen.

Black Noir Has Fried Vocal Cords

Black Noir - The Boys

Think about it. Have we ever heard Black Noir (Nathan Mitchell) speak? Whilst we’re not sure the extent of his powers, one Reddit user has theorized that Black Noir’s powers are simply to survive. We’ve seen the character be deeply injured, but it all seems superficial.

This would account for his lack of speaking — he has fried vocal cords. It would even justify his full bodysuit, to hide all the cuts, scars, and bruising that never heals. Nothing ever hurts Black Noir so deeply that it puts him down, which could explain a lot about his character.

The Boys and The Incredibles Exist In The Same Universe

In what could potentially be the most intriguing theory on this list, a Reddit user has suggested that The Incredibles exist in the same universe as The Boys, only 40 years earlier. The time difference between the two allows for Dev Tech to evolve into what we now know as Vought.

Of course, this theory doesn’t take into account the events of Season 2, where we uncover more of Vought and Stormfront’s history. Nevertheless, it’s a fun, if interesting theory, which would explain why The Incredibles are in a world where all supes are heroes, not villains — implying that they were created intentionally.
