I’ll admit to being a huge Will Ferrell fan. Since his days on SNL, I’ve watched Will grow from being a part-time player to becoming a huge movie star. And since I love his humor, it’s been great to watch his rise to the top.

So when I got the opportunity to interview Will for his new basketball comedy “Semi-Pro,” I jumped at the chance to speak with him. Since I’ve interviewed him for some of his previous movies, I knew he’d be great to talk to. Also, with a few other projects on the horizon like "Step-Brothers" and "Land of the Lost," I was hoping to find out new info on what was coming up.

But since some of you might not know about “Semi-Pro,” here’s a link to the movie clips and here’s the synopsis:

Will Ferrell plays Jackie Moon, a one-hit wonder who used the profits from the success of his chart-topping song “Love Me Sexy” to achieve his dream of owning a basketball team. But Will’s franchise, the Flint Michigan Tropics, is the worst team in the league and in danger of folding when the

ABA announces its plans to merge with the NBA. If they want to survive, Jackie (Will) and the Tropics must now do the seemingly impossible – win. The film has a great cast with Woody Harrelson, Andre Benjamin, Maura Tierney, Will Arnett, Andy Richter, Rob Corddry and Jackie Earle Haley all playing supporting roles.

As always, I listed what we talked about above the interview. And if you missed the other video interviews I posted with Will Arnett, Woody Harrelson or Andre Benjamin, just click on their names. “Semi-Pro” gets released this Friday at theaters everywhere.

Will Ferrell

  • I ask what sports movie will be next and will you take the bear

  • Since the film was going to be rated R, I ask how nice was it to be able to say and do anything

  • Since he does so many alternate takes on every movie, I ask if he can get more of them on the DVDs

  • We talk about the short shorts and the hair

  • Land of the Lost talk. He says it’ll be like none of his other movies. He says the movie will be like “Jurassic Park meets a comedy.”

  • Step Brothers talk
