The two actors that make up the comedy duo Key and Peele, Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, have had memorable roles in a number of films over the years, but they’re currently poised to topline their own film, and they’re getting a friendly (and hilarious) face to come along for the ride. THR reports that, fresh off a stellar turn on his Fox series The Last Man on Earth, actor Will Forte has signed on to co-star alongside Key and Peele in Keanu (amazing title), a feature film comedy that revolves around two friends who decide to act like gangsters in order to retrieve their stolen cat, Keanu. If that short logline doesn’t make you want to see this movie right now, I don’t know what to tell you.

Forte will play a low-level pot dealer obsessed with black culture, though Peele’s character is the only black person he knows. Method Man is already set as a murderous drug lord, and Gabrielle Union is playing Key’s wife. Peter Atencio, a director on the Comedy Central series Key & Peele, is helming the feature for New Line with a script by Peele and Alex Rubens.

Aside from the success of their Comedy Central series, Key and Peele have been popping up in unexpected places on both the big and small screen. They had memorable roles on the first season of FX's Fargo, Key popped up in Disney's Tomorrowland, and Peele has a role in the upcoming Netflix miniseries Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp.

Production on Keanu begins this summer in New Orleans, and New Line recently set an April 22, 2016 release date for the pic. Currently the only other film scheduled for that date is the Universal spinoff/sequel The Huntsman, starring Chris Hemsworth, so Keanu should be a nice piece of counter-programming.
