If you’ve been following the flurry of X-Men updates here on Collider over the last few days, you may have caught our update on Wolverine 3, which just started production last week. Producer Simon Kinberg teased that Hugh Jackman’s final go-around as the character will in fact be Rated R and will be a “very radical, bold, different Wolverine” than we’ve seen before, but now we have yet another piece of promising info on the film.

Collider’s own Steven Weintraub spoke with producer Hutch Parker on the red carpet for the X-Men: Apocalypse premiere, and he confirmed that Patrick Stewart is indeed in Wolverine 3. Granted, Stewart’s involvement has been pretty set since last fall, but it’s still nice to know that Professor X indeed has a role in the film. As Jackman previously teased, the idea is to explore the father/son dynamic of the Wolverine/Professor X relationship, and with The Wolverine helmer James Mangold directing, we’re hopefully in for something special.

You can check out Steve’s full interview with Parker in the video above, in which he also discusses the making of X-Men: Apocalypse and teases that with this next Wolverine film, they’re really trying to do something unique.

The untitled Wolverine picture is slated for release on March 3, 2017 while X-Men: Apocalypse opens in theaters on May 27th.
