superman

Schnepp first thanked the citizens of Metropolis, Illinois for putting on a great celebration for everyone's superhero, Superman at their annual “Superman Celebration.” They had Schnepp and producer Holly Payne out as special guests where they screened the film The Death of ‘Superman Lives’: what Happened? It was all wonderful, with things getting super sweaty over the weekend festivities. It was definitely worth the trip to go to the Super Museum, and see the history of Superman over all the years!

With this past week, photos from the set of Wolverine 3 show Professor X and a bearded Logan running from some unseen enemy, with a teenage girl in tow. Donald Glover Cast in Spider-Man: Homecoming

Sometimes dreams do come true. Actor Donald Glover, who had campaigned very publicly to be the new Spider-Man when the reboot was announced back in 2011, is now joining the cast of Spider-Man: Homecoming in a mysterious role.  Now the question is: Will he portray an older Miles Morales, or a friend or foe?

James Wan Talks About His Version of Aquaman

In an interview from CBR, James Wan recently talked a bit about what's in store for the feature film version of Aquaman. Speaking about the movie, he said he knows that after the audience sees Aquaman for the first time, he will definitely NOT be the butt of superhero jokes. Wan thinks that there's something very exciting about that and that he actually does think there's something kind of fun, as well, to take a character where people don't know what to expect from him and go from there. Wan then spoke about going all "Cameron" style, talking a sequence in The Conjuring 2 with water and now, he has to put up with water for a whole movie!

Minor Mutations:

Flashback: Mystery Men (1999)

This superhero comedy was a major flop when it came out in 1999 but, over the years grown in flavor like a fine wine. Based off of Bob Burden’s characters from his Flaming Carrot Comics, this all star cast featured Ben Stiller as Mr.Furious, Hank Azaria as the Blue Raja, William H Macy as the Shoverler, Paul Ruebens as the Spleen, and Janeane Garafolo as the Bowler. These heroes are seen as losers compared to Captain Amazing, played by Greg Kinear, who ends up releasing supervillain Casanova Frankenstein, with some seriously bad results.

Spotlight: Supreme

This weeks Spotlight is on Supreme, a 1990's character that started out as an image comics version of Superman created by Rob Liefeld. Later, in the hands of writer Alan Moore, he became the superior version of everything that the Superman series of its time had forgotten to do, and that was have fun with the character. Can this comic be adapted into a movie or television series?
