ABC has revealed a premiere date for Women of the Movement, the long-anticipated limited series centered around the true story of Mamie Till-Mobley. The six-episode series will air on January 6 at 8 p.m. and will come to us in three parts over a span of three weeks.

The story follows the life of Mamie Till-Mobley, the mother of Emmett Till (Cedric Joe), the young boy who was mercilessly lynched in the 1955 Jim Crow South. The limited television event will see Mamie put her own life on the line in order to seek justice for her beloved son, Emmett, keeping his name and brutal murder in the press and lighting a fire under the Civil Rights Movement.

We’ve also been given a teaser trailer for the show which tells a quick version of the story and what we can expect. In the opening, we see Mamie addressing reporters and saying, “My son, he’s a good boy. He was taken in the middle of the night by white men. His name is Emmett Till.” We then hear another woman comforting Mamie and telling her that “fighting for your child is going to inspire other women.” The teaser wraps up with Mamie speaking in front of a church congregation and saying, “What happens to one of us, had better be the business of all of us."
