Production is currently underway on Woody Allen’s still untitled next film, and as per the norm plot details have been scarce.  We do know that the cast includes Cate Blanchett, Sally Hawkins, Louis C.K., Alec Baldwin, Peter Sarsgaard, Andrew Dice Clay, Michael Emerson and Bobby Cannavale,  and that the story takes place in San Francisco and New York City.  Now a few more plot details have surfaced, as the romantic comedy apparently centers on a woman whose “posh New York City lifestyle” comes crashing down so she makes a move to San Francisco.  Hit the jump for more. The plot details for Allen’s next feature come per SF Appeal (via Bleeding Cool):

The movie is about a wealthy woman who finds herself broke and in San Francisco, living with her sister and downsizing her life.

She eventually meets a man in the Bay Area who could solve her financial problems, but she first needs to discover who she is and, more importantly, accept San Francisco as her home.

We’re not 100% sure who’s playing which characters, but when she was cast Hawkins was described as one of two female leads, a “neurotic who’s fun and rough around the edges.”  Blanchett is reportedly the other lead, “a sophisticated woman who has her life together,” so we can reasonably assume that the two actresses will be playing the aforementioned sisters.  The premise sounds like a fun jumping off point, but simple “synopses” don’t really do Woody Allen films justice. I’m quite intrigued to find out who Louis C.K. will be playing, as he seems exceptionally suited to spout off Allen's dialogue.
