It is officially awards season. It’s that time of year when every organization is getting out their nominees for the best that the past year has had to offer. Today, the Writers Guild of America, WGA, has announced their list of nominees for the TV, new media, news, and radio categories. Among the honored programs are new hit series like Andor, Abbott Elementary, and Severance as well as returning favorites like Barry, Ozark, and Better Call Saul.

The streamer with the biggest showing in the nominee list is far and away Apple TV+ with twelve nominations. Other big winners are FX, Netflix, and Disney+, who all got multiple programs nominated in the narrative categories. Additionally, FOX almost had a clean sweep in the Animation category with four of the six nominations, three The Simpsons episodes and one Bob’s Burgers are nominated. When combining narrative, news, variety, and radio categories, CBS, NBC, and ABC also get a lot of representation in the nominee pool.

Some of the individual series walking away with the most nominations are Severance, The Bear, and Better Call Saul with each getting three nominations. In fact, Better Call Saul is responsible for all three nominations AMC got from the WGA this year. Other shows getting a lot of representation are Andor, Abbott Elementary, and Bad Sisters.
