The Collider Weekly TV Guide is a rundown of notable episodes, premieres, returns, finales, and opportunities to catch up on great shows (or cast an eye to the occasional train wreck). Check out our picks for the week beginning with Tuesday, January 25th:

Monday, 1/25

The X-Files, “Founder’s Mutation” (Fox, 8 p.m.) – After last night’s baffling premiere, Chris Carter’s revival of Agents Mulder and Scully (David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson) gets on a steadier track with this second episode, wherein the FBI agents investigate the strange suicide of a young scientist who was plagued by an, er, alien noise.

Lucifer Series Premiere, “Pilot” (Fox, 9 p.m.) – Neil Gaiman’s take on the devil gets butchered and malformed in this thoughtless, glossy supernatural procedural, which pairs the lord of the underworld, played by Tom Ellis, with a Los Angeles detective (Lauren German) while he takes a vacation on Earth.

The Magicians Series Premiere, “Unauthorized Magic” (Syfy, 9 p.m.) – Lev Grossman’s beloved fantasy books come to the small screen, with best friends Quentin (Jason Ralph) and Julia (Stella Maeve) quickly recruited to take entrance exams for Brakebills University, a mysterious institution for aspiring magicians who have gone beyond birthday-party tricks for the young.

Tuesday, 1/26

The Flash, “The Reverse-Flash Returns” (CW, 8 p.m.) – In the latest episode of the CW’s preeminent DC hit, Mercury Labs is attacked by a mysterious force, which is finally confirmed to be the Reverse Flash (Matt Letscher), back to his old tricks. The team must figure out the hows and whys of the attack, while Iris (Candice Patton) and her brother find an unexpected way of bonding.

Agent Carter, “Better Angels” (ABC, 9 p.m.) – In the second episode of this underappreciated Marvel spin-off’s second season, the titular heroine (Hayley Atwell) continues to investigate Zero Matter, which puts her at opposition with Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper).

Wednesday, 1/27

Arrow, “A.W.O.L.” (CW, 8 p.m.) – Shadowspire rises in the latest episode of this CW series, with Diggle (David Ramsey) and Andy (Eugene Byrd) coming into direct conflict with one of their most dangerous agents in Star City. Elsewhere, Oliver (Stephen Amell) begins to seriously cope with…all that stuff. I mean, there’s a lot on his plate right now, don’t you think?

Thursday, 1/28

Legends of Tomorrow, “Pilot – Part 2” (CW, 8 p.m.) – This very fun, if brainless DC adaptation continues on with the second half of its pilot, with Vandal Savage (Casper Crump) continuing to be a major killjoy and Atom (Brandon Routh) losing his powerful suit during a big fight. Time travel gets involved, but Snart and Rory (Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell) also come up with a back-up plan to get back at Savage and maybe stop him for good.

You, Me, and the Apocalypse Series Premiere, “Who Are These People?” (NBC, 8 p.m.) – After a comet hits Earth and nearly everything dies, a small band of survivors, led by Rob Lowe and Jenna Fischer, assemble together to try and make something like a new society. We promise to not talk too much about how much this sounds like NBC trying to match The Last Man on Earth.

Sunday, 1/31

Grease Live (Fox, 7 p.m.) – The iconic greaser musical comes to the Life format, telling the story of high-school love between a goody two-shoes and a leather-jacket wearing bad-boy. This adaptation stars the likes of Julianne Hough, Aaron Tveit, and Spring Breakers star Vanessa Hudgens.
