A few new images from director Bryan Singer’s upcoming “inbetweenquel” X-Men: Days of Future Past have landed online.  The story finds Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) having his consciousness sent back to 1973 in order to help Professor X (James McAvoy), Magneto (Michael Fassbender), and the rest of the X-Men: First Class crew stop the rise of the Sentinels, giant robots programmed to exterminate mutants.  A few of these new images are high-resolution versions of previously released images, while a couple others are promo photos of Fassbender and Ian McKellen as Magneto.  All in all, this gives us a better look at the updated costumes that Singer has crafted, and the McAvoy/Stewart image is rather exciting.  With the summer movie season only a few months away, I expect we’ll see a second trailer for the film sooner rather than later.

Hit the jump to check out the new images.  The film also stars Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Peter Dinklage, Evan Peters, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Halle Berry, and Patrick StewartX-Men: Days of Future Past opens in 3D on May 23rd.
