As Aaron Eckhart is slated to play the iconic monster and Bill Nighy is in talks to portray the villain, all I, Frankenstein needs now is the female lead. Enter Yvonne Strahovski (Chuck), who is in final negotiations to join the Stuart Beattie (Tomorrow, When the War Began) film. Strahovski will play a devoted scientist tricked into working for demons. Also joining the production is Miranda Otto, best known for her role as Eowyn in The Lord of the Rings trilogy. The movie, planned to shoot this winter in Australia, is based on a comic by Kevin Grevioux that features a fiendish plot by demons to create an army of the undead. I, Frankenstein is currently scheduled for a February 22, 2013 release. Hit the jump for more casting details.Yvonne-StrahovskiCasting news for I, Frankenstein comes via THR. Details on Strahovski’s role are scarce, but the report pegs her as a scientist working on reanimating the dead. This line of work plays nicely into the hands (claws?) of the demons that seek to create legions of undead soldiers.Otto will be playing the queen of the gargoyles who aims to help Frankenstein (Eckhart). Nighy, as mentioned above, is in negotiations to play the demon leader with Socratis Otto (Home and Away), no relation, to play his right hand man (ah, so it is hands!). Socratis Otto can next be seen in Gone, starring Amanda Seyfried. (You can watch the trailer here) Click here to get caught up on all of our I, Frankenstein coverage.
