The Zach Galifianakis hot streak continues as ShockTillYouDrop reports that he's been cast in producer Michael Aguiler's (who produced The Crazies remake) supernatural comedy Miracle Workers.  Sadly, this is not a movie about Annie Sullivan clones.  However, it will have Zach Galifianakis as a guy who, along with his pal, pretends to perform exorcisms.  Thing go awry when they encounter a real demon.  If crosses, holy water, and Latin incantations all fail, Galifianakis can still resort to sitting down at a piano and delivering deadpan jokes.

Galifianakis has a heavy slate of upcoming films including this summer's Dinner for Schmucks, Todd Phillips' Due Date co-starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jamie Foxx, the sequel to The Hangover, Will with Paul Rudd, You Are Here from Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner, It's Kind of a Funny Story which is the new film from the team that brought you Half-Nelson, and Town House with Amy Adams.  Not all of these movies may head into production and other may be humming right along.  But with Dinner for Schmucks and Due Date coming out this year and The Hangover 2 set for next year, Galifianakis isn't going away anytime soon and that's fantastic.

With Anthony Hopkins also being cast as an exorcist in The Rite, I hope we're seeing the start of a new trend of movies where the leads cast out demons through barbaric, superstitious rituals.
