Disney has released the first trailer for the next film from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Zootopia. Directed by Byron Howard (Tangled) and Rich Moore (Wreck-It Ralph), the 48 Hrs.-esque buddy comedy takes place in the titular city and revolves around Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman), a sly con-artist fox who finds himself framed for a crime he didn’t commit. Bunny Lt. Judy Hops (Ginnifer Goodwin) is tasked with tracking him down, but when both end up framed for the crime, they are reluctantly forced to team up.

We don't get much of that plot in this teaser, just a bare-bones introduction to the world of Zootopia and the characters who exist within it. And honestly? It works great. Bateman's narration gives you all the sense of tone you need while also teaching kids (and some adults) the word "anthropomorphic." The world is established, the characters are introduced, and the conflict is triggered. Perfectly done, and with a few well-placed laughs for good measure.
